Metaphor

Metaphor

The Metaphor is a figure of speech which is the comparison of two unlike things as in "A mighty fortress is our God" , "A sea of troubles" or "All the world's a stage" , In the poem "A Meditation for his Mistress" by Robert Herrick he wrote "You are a dainty violet" and "You are a sparkling rose i'th' bud" He compares a woman to being a dainty flower and woman aren't dainty or flowers. But by saying that he is talking about the woman having delicate beauty being dainty

Simile is the comparison of two unlike things using like or as. "That man is like a women

Personification is giving human qualities to animals or objects. "A giggling horse". This reminds me of cartoons like Tom And Jerry tehy are giving human qualities ike speaking or eating at the dinner table. Or like the picture BugsBunny can't really play soccer or wear clothes

Anthropomorphism is giving human forms or qualities to an entitie which are not human. Specifically anthropomorphism is the describing of gods or goddesses in human forms and possessing human characteristics such as jealousy, hatred, or love.

Analogy is a comparison of two pairs that have a relationship."Hot is to Cold as up is to down"

Hyperbole is exaggeration or overstatement.
